Accountability (15%): Accountability includes class preparation, organizational checks and homework when graded for effort only Full credit is received if the homework is well done, fully complete, and turned in on time. No partial credit is awarded on homework assignments. A homework assignment is considered missed if the homework was not completed or not turned in on the day it was due. For every missed homework assignment an informational notice will be sent home with the student detailing the missed work and requiring a parent/guardian signature. The notice must be returned to me with the missing work. NO credit will be given for this work, but you need to learn the skills. Test & Quizzes (45%): Tests will always be announced so that there is ample time to prepare. Please do not wait until the last minute to study! Quizzes will NOT always be announced. All tests with a grade of a 70% or below MUST be signed and returned by the next day or a detention will be given. For example: 1 day late = 1 detention, 2 days late = 2 detentions, 3 days or more = administrative detention and/or Saturday school. If you are absent the day of a test or quiz, you must make-up the work or a zero will be given. Be prepared to make-up the test or quiz on the day you return to school. Labs, Projects, & Journals (40%): Labs and projects include work that is done in class as well as assignments that are completed at home. Interactive Journals will be kept throughout the year. Reflection assignments will be checked regularly using the following criteria: If the assignment is completed = 100% If the assignment is not completed following the directions = NC (NC means no credit is given, but noted in the grade book that the assignment was done.) If the assignment is not present at the time of collection = 0% |
